Newton's Third Law of Motion

"For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction."

Formally stated, Newton's third law is as follows: "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction."

A force is a push or a pull upon an object which results from its interaction with another object. Forces are the direct results of interactions. According to Newton, whenever objects A and B interact with each other, they exert forces upon each other. When you sit in a chair, your body exerts a downward force on the chair and the chair exerts an upward force on your body. There are two forces resulting from this interaction - a force on the chair and a force on your body.

In examining this law on a deeper level, it seems evident that with every event that occurs in our lives, we have the power to determine the 'reaction'. More specifically, when we are faced with adversity and pain, we have the opportunity to experience and grow just as much if we choose to do so. Have you ever noticed that some people who haven't experienced a lot of pain in their lives seem to be rather shallow and unaware?....and on the flipside of that....Have you ever noticed that some people who have experienced a lot of trial and tribulation in their lives seem to have a heightened sense of self-awareness and insight? It is very interesting. It is as if these individuals were able to harness the positive 'opposite reaction' that came about from their intense pain and tribulation and grow immensely from it. It would make sense to me to assume that if one has experienced great sadness in their life, they have the opportunity to experience the same level of happiness and peace if they choose to pursue it.

I know for me personally, my life experiences and my reaction to them has made me into the person that I am today and the person I hope to become. I do have increased self-awareness and a greater understanding of myself and the world around me, and I wouldn't trade that for anything. I am looking forward to my opportunity to feel the 'equal and opposite reaction' to the sadness and pain that I have experienced in my life. The best is yet to come. In the meantime,....game on!
